Went to NYC! Visited Gigi, saw...

And I’m only posting about this once, I promise, probably going to stop checking twitter/tumblr after Sherlock!time tomorrow because I’m making my girlfriend watch it with me when I see her on Monday(!)  I’m conflicted. This is such a beautiful series, so of course I’d like to see it continue, but on the other hand, Moffat and Gatiss are such Arthur Conan Doyle fanboys...

may or may not be so into mystrade I'm making...
IT’S A LOT OF FUN, OK, I FORGOT. ABOUT HOW MUCH FUN. THERE IS. IN FANDOM. So in my mind female Lestrade is tough, possibly a rugby player, definitely slightly butch, but Mycroft is very female politician-y and put together in a pencil skirt sort of way. I love Mycroft rocking the three-piece suits but I can’t think of a working feminine version of that, really, that doesn’t make...

wellesleyunderground: Mitt Romney has been frequently quoting “America the Beautiful” in his speeches. What he may not know is that the song was written in 1893 by Wellesley College professor, poet, and social activist Katherine Lee Bates—who lived with and shared her life with another woman, fellow Wellesley professor Katherine Coman. Lynn Sherr (Wellesley ’63) wrote about Bates in...
