the thing about Reichenbach.
And I’m only posting about this once, I promise, probably going to stop checking twitter/tumblr after Sherlock!time tomorrow because I’m making my girlfriend watch it with me when I see her on Monday(!)
I’m conflicted. This is such a beautiful series, so of course I’d like to see it continue, but on the other hand, Moffat and Gatiss are such Arthur Conan Doyle fanboys that I wouldn’t fault them for respecting ACD’s original wishes and ending Sherlock’s life there. Or maybe they want history to rewrite itself, and they’ll kill him until the backlash from the fans becomes so much that they bring him back.
At least I’m pretty confident that they’re not gonna go the Ritchie route and bring him back, oh, 30 seconds after he “dies” (no but seriously, what).
There are just so many ways this could go, and I’m excited to see what happens there, but also I’m just generally excited to see the third episode in an awesome series 2 of an awesome show.
(also I love Moffat’s and Gatiss’s answers to twitter questions about what will happen and the outrage that ensues. BECAUSE THEY’RE TOTALLY GONNA TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE YOU WATCH THE SHOW.)
