Commencement speakers.
Announcers led it up to kind of make it sound like she was Rachel Maddow, with the MSNBC logo and everything (self defined “nerd” anyone?), but I knew as soon as they said she’d graduated from Tulane that it was not Ms. Maddow herself (who graduated from Stanford, duh, everyone knows that).
Still, I’m hopeful that Melissa Harris-Perry will do a good job, and honestly? If our commencement speaker had been Rachel Maddow I probably would have had a stroke during commencement so it’s just as well!

We’re so thrilled for everyone who just learned that they’ve been admitted to Wellesley!
CONGRATULATIONS…RED CLASS OF 2016…. *awkwardly big smile*
sigh. if only incoming students didn’t mean I had to graduate. MIXED FEELINGS.

You guys, Wellesley's Orientation Flash Mob is in a competition
I worked hard for that flashmob so obviously I think we should win, but vote for whichever one you think is best, I guess.
(yes, I danced in it. No, you can’t see me dancing in the video.)
(but okay, ours is more energetic than Merrimack’s, and Emerson is an ARTS COLLEGE so of COURSE THEIRS WAS AWESOME. But it’s not a flash mob. So the choice is obvs.)
If Wellesley loses to Merrimack I am going to be most upset.

Today is MARATHON MONDAY, my favourite Wellesley tradition and the one I was most upset about having to miss. Also everyone gets a day off because of the Boston Marathon, MASSACHUSETTS I LOVE YOU.
I like cheering for marathon runners. I like giving them high-fives. Last year I got some kisses, too, which was fun (and funny). And I liked painting the signs last year.
